Rana Yared, Goldman Sachs
Rana is a managing director on the Principal Strategic Investments team in the Securities Division at Goldman Sachs. She joined Goldman Sachs as an analyst in 2006 and was named managing director in 2013.
Rana earned a BS from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MSc from the London School of Economics.
Jim Kim, Formation 8
Jim is a founding member of Formation 8 and enjoys investing in entrepreneurs working at transformative, contrarian companies. He currently serves on the boards of IT and Diversified Technology companies including: Versive, EVA, Bolt Threads, Taxon Biosciences, and Leeo.
Jim received undergraduate degrees in Computer Science & Electrical Engineering and Political Science from MIT. He also holds a Masters in Quantitative Data Analysis from Columbia University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Tim Porter, Madrona Venture Group
Tim is focused on investing in B2B software companies in the Pacific Northwest and is a board member or board observer of numerous portfolio companies. He currently is particularly interested in the areas of intelligent applications and SaaS applied to both horizontal and vertical applications, cloud native infrastructure and automation, ML and data analytics, and cybersecurity.
Tim received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Joseph Polverari, CEO
Joe is responsible for driving overall business and operational strategies to accelerate growth, as well as evangelizing Versive’s innovative adaptive data science platform.
Prior to Versive, Joe was Chief Strategy & Development Officer at Yodlee, responsible for global strategy, go to market, business and corporate development activities, and entrepreneurship. Joe has over 20 years of experience in multinational business strategy, including two IPOs.
Joe holds a BS in Economics and Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University, and a certificate in business management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Peiter C. Zatko (aka Mudge)
Mudge is a network security expert, open source programmer, writer, and a hacker. He was the most prominent member of the high-profile hacker think tank the L0pht, as well as the long-lived computer and culture hacking cooperative the Cult of the Dead Cow.
While involved with the L0pht, Mudge contributed significantly to disclosure and education on information and security vulnerabilities. In addition to pioneering buffer overflow work, the security advisories he released contained early examples of flaws in the following areas: code injection, race conditions, side-channel attacks, exploitation of embedded systems, and cryptanalysis of commercial systems. He was the original author of the password-cracking software L0phtCrack.
